Ken Farmer Joins Freeman 's as Consulting Specialist for Americana

Freeman 's welcomes Ken Farmer as Consulting Specialist for American Furniture, Folk & Decorative Arts. Based out of the Freeman 's office in Richmond, Virginia, Ken will assist clients with evaluating and consigning their special collections and objects.  “I am delighted to have the opportunity of working together with Ken having known him for many years through Antiques Roadshow. A well-recognized and established authority in the field of Americana, he will be a major asset in developing our auctions and extending Freeman's two hundred year old brand to new clients in the South,” said Vice Chairman Alasdair Nichol.An avid student of Americana, Southern material culture, and musical instruments for more than 40 years, Ken Farmer began his career as a American fine and decorative arts dealer. He later went on to own and operate a Virginia auction house from 1980 to 2015. Ken is now the sole proprietor of Ken Farmer LLC, which specializes in providing appraisals, consulting, public speaking, and downsizing advice for individuals, corporations, and institutions. Ken has appeared on the popular PBS series Antiques Roadshow since its inception in 1996 as an expert in folk art, furniture, musical instruments, and decorative arts.“Partnering with Freeman 's gives my clients access to a world class auction house with a representative in their own backyard.
