Kimberly Miller joined Freeman’s in the summer of 2020 as SVP, Head of Trusts & Estates and Collections Departments where she serves as a central contact for fiduciaries, law firms, family offices, beneficiaries, corporate curators and private clients seeking assistance with the valuation and disposition of single and multi-category collections.
With fifteen years of museum and auction industry experience, Kim spent the last decade working as a Specialist in the 20th Century Design and Wine Depts. at Christie’s, Zachy’s and Sotheby’s. In addition to assisting novice and elite collectors in the buying and selling of works, she possess experience in devising sale strategy and marketing plans for multi and single-category collections. During her tenure as Head of Dept. & Specialist for 20th Century Design at Sotheby’s, the department executed several market-defining single-owner collections and was instrumental in setting market records for works by Tiffany Studios, Jean Royère, Les Lalannes, Harry Bertoia, Wendell Castle, and Shiro Kuramata. Prior to life in auction, Kim lived in Schweinfurt, Germany as a military spouse and worked as a Collections Manager for a Smithsonian Institution in Würzburg.
Kim is a member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA) and USPAP compliant. She is on the Advisory Council for Mural Arts Philadelphia, on the Junior Board for the Careers Through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP), and an active member of the Decorative Arts Trust and Art Glass Forum, among others. She graduated from Temple University with a BA in Art History (Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and Sotheby’s Institute London with an MA in Fine and Decorative Art History (Honors).
